If these are some of the questions in your mind, then this is where you need to be. NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is the entry-level examination conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission to undergraduate courses in the field of medicine, like MBBS and BDS.

The exam is conducted once every year for students of science stream looking for admissions to medical courses. NEET is a mandatory entry-level examination for students seeking admission to Indian colleges as well as foreign medical universities.

Overview of NEET
  • National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is conducted by the National Testing Agency.
  • It is an annual examination conducted once every year.
  • NEET is an offline examination conducted in a pen and paper mode with questions in the form of MCQs.
  • It is conducted in 11 languages – Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
  • It is conducted over 3 (three) hours (180 minutes).
  • The total number of questions in NEET are 180 with 4 positive marks for each correct answer. There is negative marking for wrong answers.
  • Thus, the maximum achievable marks are 720.
  • There are three sections in NEET – Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

  • Form Availability – December 2, 2019
  • Last Date to Submit Form – December 31, 2019
  • Last Date to Pay Fee – December 31, 2019
  • Admit Card Availability – March 27, 2020
  • NEET 2020 Exam – May 3, 2020
  • Availability of Provisional Answer Key – Last week of May 2020* (Expected)
  • Availability of Final Answer Key – First week of June 2020* (Expected)
  • NEET 2020 Result – June 4, 2020
Are You Eligible for NEET 2020?

As per the criteria set for eligibility for NEET, the following points must be met before an applicant applies for the examination.

  1. Nationality – To appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, one could be an Indian national, a foreign national, an NRI, PIO, or OCI.
  2. Age – In terms of age, the candidate must be 17 years old as of December 31st of the year of examination, December 31, 2020, in this case.
  3. Qualification – The student must have completed a minimum qualification of Class XII in science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  4. Marks Obtained – Minimum marks required for qualifying are 50% for the General category, 45% for PWD, and 42% for SC/ST/OBC.

The application form for NEET 2020 can be filled online from start to finish in simplified steps for the ease of applicants. It is always advisable that the student keeps all documents handy before starting the application process.

The documents required for NEET 2020 application are –

  1. A scan of passport size photograph not older than three (3) months with the candidate’s name printed below it.
  2. A scan of the candidate’s signature in black ink (on white background).
  3. A valid and functional mobile number
  4. A valid and functional email address
  5. Class Xth marks and scanned copies
  6. Class XIIth marks and scanned copies
  7. Government-approved ID card like Aadhaar Card, Passport, Ration Card, and/or bank account.
  8. Banking details like Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking for payment of fees.
